The Railway Inn is a small pub with two rooms, and has been in business for more than 60 years, managed the same family. The second landlady, along with her mother still serves at the bar.
A stone flag floor is the first thing to notice when inside the pub. Whitewashed walls can be seen in a farmhouse-like kitchen with an unused fireplace. The bar serves a good selection of well-kept ales such as Parish, Shropshire Lad, Special, Marston's Pedigree, and Wadworths 6X. These are served with sparklers, with each pint priced at £1.45.
The other room has benches and stools with dull coving and plastic flowers, and is for seating only. There are fishing trophies placed on the shelved walls. One of these trophies features a fish named Pinkie caught in 1992 and weighs 40lb. Outside the pub is a beer garden just next to the road.
During winter, double-glazing and a radiator are used to give warmth to the guests. Considered as a man’s pub, there is no food and music offered in the Railway Inn, just pure drinking and conversation. The pub is open everyday during lunchtimes and evenings from 12:00 noon to 3:30 p.m. and from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. For those guests who want to eat, good foods served at the railway station. The pub does not have accommodation. A usb stick is a good way to save any information you need regarding accomodation and booking details.
